In the december/january issue of ALFA magazine I have an article on personal flight and our surprising shortcomings in the area, so I thought I'd post this fresh new discovery as a bonus. In the article I mention a few of the new additions to the personal flight game, including the australian Hover-bike - which will be awesome once they figure out how to keep it from flying off uncontrollably into space - and the ridiculous but guaranteed splash horror in case of crash; the E-Volo multicopter. However, this ZERO helicopter designed by Hector del Amo is also simplistic, smart, elegant, hopefully feasible and won't leave you looking like a certain drink consisting of vodka and tomato juice in case of a crash. You might catch a bit of a draft, and the shell is not exactly Mercedes Benz protective, but what the hell - I'll take my sunday afternoon air stroll in this any day of the week, including sunday.
